Another new number puzzle, it’s usually designed in the form of a pyramid with the participant having to place numerical values into boxes, but has been slightly amended for the blog.
F=A+B G=B+C H=C+D I=D+E J=F+G K=G+H L=H+I M=J+K N=K+L and P=M+N.
If A=10 H=29 K=47 L=54 and M=76, what is the value of E?
E = 9
That was hard, had to draw it out like a pyramid to make progress but even then took about 30 mins to solve. Interesting though
E is not 9 I’m afraid. Why not write each equation on a different line? Should take you about 5 minutes that way!
E = 11
Hopefully correct this time, I think I just made it too complicated, great puzzle, especially if I got it correct this time
Thanks Martin, but not correct. Vijay is I’m afraid.
I solved for E, I get E as 13. Now waiting for Paul to give his verdict
now if the answer is correct, please be noted that I have taken 8 mins so far
)
Cheers
Vijay
The answer is . . . . . 13, yay!!
E = 13 Because…
A=10
B=1
C=17
D=12
E=13
F=11
G=18
H=29
I=25
J=29
K=47
L=54
M=76
N=101
P=177
Well done Elin and Charlotte. I’ll be postnig a few of these over the coming weeks! Keep a look-out!
Sorry, I meant Erin!!
