20 February 2014: 11+ ARITHMETIC

Another ELEVEN PLUS ARITHMETIC question for you to try, just like 11 year-olds had to sit in the 1940’s and 50’s to enter Grammar Schools. Could today’s Y6 cohort answer this?

List the number which is divisible by 3 without any remainder:

214    218    220    224    226    228    230    233

  1. ELLA says:

i got 228 because it is the only one which its digits add up to 3,6,9 or 12

  2. matteo marie says:

    228

  3. Vrinda says:

I got 228 because if you add up all the digits it makes 12 which is divisible by 3 without a remainder whereas all the other number will leave remainders when divided by 3.
